PhD in Pediatric Endocrinology. His research field addresses aspects of nutrition, metabolism and obesity; diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease in pediatrics.
Professor Verónica Mericq is currently a Full Professor at the Institute of Maternal and Child Research at the University Of Chile School of Medicine, where she was also trained in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Endocrinology Medical Residency. Later on she did a fellowship at the National Institute of Health and at Joslin Diabetes Clinic (USA). Professor Mericq has an impressive clinical and basic science researcher history. Up to now she published more than 165 papers, most of them in highly impact Medical Journals and many of them resulting from international collaborative work. She has conducted 22 researches, won important grants for developing them and received more than 30 awards throughout her career. Besides being a member of SLEP, she has import roles in other national and international Pediatric and Pediatric Endocrinology Societies, being worldwide acknowledged and respected for her outstanding work.

Professor Alicia Belgorosky graduated in Medicine and received her PhD from the Buenos Aires University (Argentina). Currently she is Director, Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology and a basic and clinical researcher at the University of Buenos Aires and at the National University of Tucuman. Dr. Belgorosky also belongs to the National Research Council of Argentina, where she stands as a Senior Investigator. Professor Belgorosky authored more than 200 scientific papers in high-impact medical journals and presented more than 600 free communications in worldwide scientific events. She received 38 awards from recognized National and International Medical Societies throughout her accomplished and admirable career. Besides being a founder and an active member of SLEP, she has an important role in supporting the continuous development of Pediatric Endocrinology in Latin America. SLEP is pleased to award Professor Alicia Belgorosky as a Master of Endocrinology 2019.
